NEW BEGINNINGS AT CHRISTMAS TREE COTTAGE BY GEORGIA HILL

Christmas is exactly the time of year for a reliable romance; a time-honoured trope, relatable characters, super-cute children and more mince pies and mulled wine than you can shake the proverbial stick at.

On all of the above and more, this book delivers in spades. The community of Lullbury Bay is beautifully drawn, with every single local character shining out from the page. It’s a gorgeously reassuring place to spend a fictional Christmas; warm and welcoming, yet spiced with humour.

When Jago’s family arrives in November they’re carrying scars they decide to keep secret, but of course this leads to misunderstandings, even as they are absorbed into the village’s heart. And school teacher Honor makes the biggest mistake of all. I’m not going to spoil the story; put on your Christmas jumper and dive into the book yourself to find out.
